The primary purpose of this assignment is to design a sustainable HVAC system for the specified building based on the information provided by the previous groups. When designing a HVAC system for the given building, it is important to select an appropriate system type as well as determining the sizes of the mechanical equipment in order to supply sufficient air loads to meet the demands of the building. This assignment is to entail the selection process of an appropriate system, single line diagrams of the selected system or systems, HVAC system component sizes, as well as any deviations from the original program, and recommendations to the engineers that will be designing a HVAC system for the building.
Considering that our building is a high-rise tower structure of 20 stories and is located in Downtown Chicago, major challenges for this assignment include selecting an appropriate HVAC system, mechanical unit sizes, and duct work sizing in order to supply adequate air supply to meet the demands of the building. |
